Our Winterweight Softshell Pants provide warmth without adding the bulk of loft insulation. Using a four-way stretch nylon/spandex woven fabric bonded to a hydrophobic fleece, the pants still stretch like a lightweight softshell, but provide protection against cold, rain, wind, and abrasion. The crotch gusset and articulated knees enhance the mobility without adding extra seaming or bulk. The belt loops were designed with the fighter in mind and keep the belt and all of its attached goods in place, less likely to get snagged on the run. Four cargo pockets, 2 on the thigh sides and 2 on the calf sides, allow extra storage wherever needed. Knife pockets are sewn onto both thigh cargo pockets for easy access to a blade. Staggered Velcro on those pockets aids the user so that the whole pocket doesn’t have to open to get the knife. Zippered hems allow ease in pulling the pant on over boots, and gripper tape at the hem keeps the pants down around the ankle where they should be. We even make it easier by adding grommets to the hems so that the hems can be strapped down over the boots. In variable temperatures, these pants function in every way desired by a wearer on the move.

Near Infrared (NIR) Signature Management Technology is used by the U.S. Department of Defense to prevent detection by NIR Image Converters. These photocathode devices do not detect temperatures, but rather infrared radiation variances. NIR-compliant uniforms use a special fabric that allows soldiers to appear at the same radiation level as the surrounding terrain, thus making them more difficult to detect.
